So the difference between the two DX7.5L A-60 brake actuators is just that one is for trailers with disc brakes and the other is for trailers with drum brakes:
- Drum Brakes: Dexter DX7.5L A-60 Brake Actuator # DX53FR
- Disc Brakes: Dexter DX7.5L A-60 Brake Actuator # DX73FR

If you are absolutely sure you'd never be over the 12k number you listed a 12.5k actuator like the Demco part # DM8104311 would work great. I really like how easy to use the EZ latch couplers are of the Demco actuators.

Since your tow dolly has electric drum brakes you only need 7-way wiring along with a brake controller like # RED52VR in your tow vehicle to use the brakes. If you don't already have a 7-way on your vehicle you will need to add one.

The top bolts are 3 inches apart on center, and the bottom bolt is 2 inches underneath those (and directly in the middle of the top bolts) for the 7,000 lb Demco Hydraulic Brake Actuator w/ Electric Lockout - Disc Brakes # DM62VR.

"No Lockout" means that this particular actuator # T47457007K does not have a built-in reverse lockout. Meaning that driving the trailer in reverse will actuate the brakes. Thank you for the image of your setup Steve. I do not know what the manufacturer was thinking when they welded in the Demco Actuator on your boat trailer. With how it was installed there is no way for you to access that rear pin without drilling a hole through the frame. They should have installed either the Disc # DM8205222 or Drum # DM8202232 brake actuator which would sit on top of the A-Frame and allow you to access all components of the hitch. Before we can confirm the correct kit will also need to figure out what bearings/grease seal match your spindles. You can remove them from the current hub and see if the part numbers are still stamped into them or you can measure the spindle at points B, C, and D on the diagram below with a set of calipers # PTW80157.

I can get the parts from that video but what I don't know 100% is the bolt size on that brake kit. Based on our own installation video I believe it is the 1/2". It is also worth noting that the brakes are designed for 7k axles with # 25580 inner and # 14125A or # 02475 outer bearings. For the brake kit it is one of the following:

The Diamond C trailers use Hydrastar electric-over-hydraulic actuators which means the OEM brake controller on your 2024 Chevy Silverado 3500 SHOULD work just fine with it. I say "should" because we've still seen times where newer GM trucks still require the Adapter Module # HBA-CAM even though for the most part it isn't needed.

Hey Dan I can definitely help with all of this. The # e43SR Trailer Axle that you were looking at comes with electric drum brake assemblies. In order to connect this to the 7-pin connector on your truck you will simply need a 7-way trailer harness such as part # 50-67-106. This comes with a 7-way plug with 18' of jacketed 7-wire. Since the electrical is trashed, you can use this to completely replace the trailer wiring for the brakes and lights.

Both the 3,500 lb and 3,750 lb brake assemblies work with a 10" x 2-1/4" drum so either one will fit with your hubs, but you can verify your axle capacity either on the sticker tag on the side of your EZ Loader Trailer, or by looking at the tag in the middle of your axle(s).
